OpenID!

Yay! I have OpenID working finally! :-D

Basically, it's a 2 fold step forward. Firstly, all you LJ readers, can leave comments on my blog, without having to login or register on my blog. It's as simple as selecting LJ in the comment form, and then entering your LJ username. Ensure you are already logged into LJ before hitting submit, cause most OpenID implementations don't let you login, while trying to verify your identity. Once you hit submit, to post your comment, you'll be taken to a page on LJ, that will ask you to verify your identy, and to permit this site to have your verified identiy… I would click the "trust always" button (or what ever LJ calls it).

Hmmm, you guys are smart enough to work it out…. You can no longer complain it's easier to comment on LJ, than directly on my blog, cause now, after the first time, it's still just 1 click to get to the post comment part, and 1 click to submit! :-D

Of course, the other advantage, is on OpenID sites, I can now comment with my OpenID! :-D

So all you LJ readers… do me a favour, click the "Comment on my Blog…" link below, and give it a try!

Thanks!

**Edit:** I feel I should probably explain a little more to how I got things working… This [Plugin](http://the-notebook.org/12/01/2006/openid-comments-for-wordpress/ "OpenID Wordpress Plugin") works almost out of the box (it works out of the box for OpenIDConsumer, if you follow the instructions). I had to remove a trailing slash out of one of the files, to get the server part to work as well. And when I realise the theme this site runs off, it'll be OpenID enabled! (Still need to code it up, so it only deps on the OpenID stuff, if installed).

    Weirdo:

Prunes, sorry if it got denied last time you tried to comment. I have recently added ref-karma which seems to have needed a tweak to whitelist openid stuff.

It appears to be working now
