Self Image
A little something a friend sent me. Take the time to read it.
Lord God,
We often don’t see ourselves as we truly are, we often have false images of ourselves. The funny thing is we spend the MOST time with ourselves. When we wake up we have to see ourselves in the mirror, we deal with the thoughts WE think and the words WE say- are we happy with these things?
People often have negative thought patterns toward themselves, whether it’s about looks, behaviour, character. We need to STOP and think what we are letting into our minds, this is an important factor. Our thoughts are the most words we hear throughout the day and can greatly impact us. We wouldn’t allow others to discourage us in certain ways or even our friends. We would take a stand to defend the truth and not let others put us down. But who is there to protect us and stand up from our own thoughts? Who will set the truth right in our own minds?
We need to lean to have an open mind towards ourselves. It is hard to look inwardly in a fair, open, truthful manner. We are often strict and harsh towards ourselves. To see us as we REALLY are we need to let God in, because He knows us inside out and is a fair and righteous judge. He will give us the ability to learn to accept ourselves as we really are. He created us and will reveal to us our gifts and talents. He will teach us to grow into holy people and correct us if we are wrong. He will guide us onto the right path. He will help us to change for the better and live out a life worthy of Him. He will teach us His ways and give us His love.
Our inner beauty will then shine out, it will radiate onto others so they may be affected by what we are experiencing through God. His awesomeness will shine through us and be used to draw others so they may also have the same beauty treatment. We must trust and learn off the master, GIVE HIM THE CHANCE TO DO WHAT HE DOES BEST…. Love us.
